Indian students win global robotics championship in Germany

A team of high school students from Pune has won the 2025 Global Robotics Championship held in Frankfurt, Germany. The competition involved 42 countries and challenged teams to design autonomous robots for disaster relief operations. The Indian team’s robot “Savera” successfully navigated collapsed buildings, identified victims, and deployed emergency supplies using AI vision and haptic sensors. Their innovative modular design was praised for field adaptability and affordability. This win marks India’s third international robotics title in five years and reflects the country’s growing STEM education push.
